Water and Waste
Water matters.
Providing it, treating it, ensuring that there’s plenty of capacity and capability for everyone in our 9,000-acre park—and beyond. Because MidAmerica owns and operates our own water and wastewater treatment facilities, we’re able to pour on the quality and savings.
Water
Our system is large enough to serve five communities and six rural water districts that, in turn, sell to six other downstream customers. And we’ve got capacity to spare.
More than enough. We source our water from the Grand Neosho River. Our on-site treatment plant has a design capacity of 50 million gallons per day and a peak capacity of 62 million gallons per day. The combined water tank storage capacity is 19.5 million gallons.
Pay for what you use. While MidAmerica offers a declining block rate structure (2 blocks) for metered customers, rates for unmetered and small businesses (5 or fewer employees) are also available.
Wastewater Treatment
MidAmerica owns its wastewater collection and treatment system, and our rates are among the nation’s most affordable.
Here for you. We hold an umbrella NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permit for the park that allows your company to discharge directly to our treatment plant. Our plant design capacity is 2 million gallons per day.
The right rates. Rates are based on wastewater volume and characteristics, and rates for domestic and small users are also available.
