Draw from a large pool.
MidAmerica is surrounded by willing commuters. MidAmerica's Labor Shed Map shows where our workers are concentrated and illustrates a labor force that’s ready to work. When you consider that over 80% of MidAmerica’s workforce commutes within 40 minutes, you can see the strong pull from surrounding communities.
Workers prepared for the job.
In Mayes County, manufacturing constitutes 30% of the employment base, versus 11% for the state as a whole. Not only is the workforce well qualified for manufacturing jobs, but its skills are also enhanced by one of the most progressive workforce development programs in the nation—with quantitative measures that provide crucial quality assurance.
Round-the-clock performance.
Of the 4,500 employees at MidAmerica, approximately 60% are employed at second- or third-shift rotations.
Recruitment opportunity.
Approximately 12.7% of workers are classified as underemployed and a high percentage of workers commute out of the county—many to Tulsa—but would prefer to work locally, providing another potential pool of skilled workers.
MidAmerica Career Center.
Our $10 million on-site facility will provide a one-stop portal for aspiring workers, offer career counseling and capabilities assessment, train select new workers for immediate jobs, and provide best-in-class STEM Labs for area schools.
